1. Introduce yourselves as you better think, you have the honor of being on this first international version of the minds, english version.
Well we're honored of being on polluted minds, besides if it's into international version we're even more! What can we tell you.. we started playing together in 2009 and, after various line-up changes, with the recent add of Arianna we're actually five (hoping in a definitive way!). What else.. for us lyrics are very important because we think punk's not just music, but even denunciation and action against all the unjustice that has nested istself into society. Who is interested into understanding which ideals we try to carry on, can freely download our demo from the Internet!
2. Tell us about some backstage which happened to you on concerts
Backstage? What's a backstage? We can just tell you a few stories that happened to us on the road! For example once we were going to a concert with two cars, it was a two hours trip; at tre quarters of the route the car on the front couldn't see the other one and after a few minutes it received a phone call: "guys wait for us" - "ok but why, what's wrong?" - "well, pxxxxxn begged me to stop 'cause he absolutely had to take a shit!"
3. Hard question: define your musical genre, what contributed to deline the music you're playing?
Our genre surely finds itself into some undefined spot inside punk music, but giving it a name it's complicate! Probably it's a mix between hardcore, street and punk rock with sometimes even punk-free inspirations, but people say we're simply street so who can tell! We're not really interested into having a perfectly shaped sound, for us it's enough to play without asking too many questions to ourselves. Our music is born from the union of each one's experience; we don't want to be plain or traditionalist, but into constant evolution and looking for something new.
4. It's already september and sadly the Tilt won't come back, letting us alone in the cold evenings of Trentino. What has this experience left to you guys, who were between the formers of this no-profit club? Has it left any changes into your town, or is everything back like before?
We think it's really hard to explain what the TilT experience gave to us. Try to imagine a completely self managed space; from yourself, your friends, all those people who have similar interests like yours. A place where it's possible to organize artistic, cultural, musical and, why not, even just ricreative activities. A regular meeting spot where you know that even without asking around you can find some of your friends or at least interesting people, all for you to discover. A club for giving space to all those small realities which can't find space to emerge; from the music which hardly gets out from rehearsal rooms, to photography or reading. A concrete alternative to the usual pub, in order to give people a real chance to get out from socially predefined schemes where apathy and indifference reign supreme.
But TilT hasn't been just this. It even was passion, sharing, involvement, union, sweat and blood, a second home. A scream condivided from us all, against society's disinterest for youth, oppressed and left without any space.
After two years of hard work, closing it has been a really tough, but inevitable, decision. The lack of resources (both human and physical), the low user range due to our territory configuration (a valley), the endless money hunger of our locator and an almost complete disinterest from institutions, forced us to search for a different way to carry on our ideas.
Surely It left a big sense of emptiness, it has been one of those experiences who remain indelible into your memory. It engaged us hardly, but despite the hard times we encountered, even going back in time each one of us would do it again and again.
Staying on continuous touch with people gave us a chance to understand better how humans act. There's who is all appearance and no substance, who is fully committed to what he/she believes in, who isn't interested into the world around him/herself and lives passively keeping complaining without making a move. The lyrics of normal, a song from the last demo, it's inspired by what the TilT has left to us.
Sadly, after the closing, nothing apparently changed into our town. We just hope the club has left a mark inside the heart of all the people entered it: like a different angle of view from which look at usual things, in order to try living actively without being absorbed from apathy.
5. Soon the new demo will be out, after last year's one; any other news plus Arianna female voice arrival? Will you do even italian songs?
Yeah, finally our new demo is out: an old song and three new ones. We've wanted to record again Against Discrimination because it has been adapted to our line-up changes. After our second bass player left, probably because we deadly stink and our drummer is a giant pain in the ass, we decided to take Saulo back from being the only primary voice to its original employment as bass player and get Arianna as singer, because we heard her playing with her band. While practicing the new line-up, we've so decided to play without a main voice, but choosing a mix: two male voices and a female one. So now our line up is: Potoz (solo guitar), Saulo (bass and voice), Manuel (drum and voice), Arianna (voice) and Bazzoli (rhytm guitar). We're very satisfied by how this demo has been recorded, however we don't know if we'll make any italian song: never say never!
6. Which song you've written is your favourite and why?
S: Well, easy peasy: the best song is always the one we're going to write!
A: Talking about the lyrics, Against Discrimination; I think it contains a fundamental part of our thinking, while musically surely heroes!
M: I have to say I really like all this last demo, both lyrics and music! Instead from the first one I've really appreciated international riot.
7. The three best discs of punk's story (any other similar sub-genre it's allowed)?
S: Well it's a really hard question, I dont think there are three discs which can absolutely be on the first three places. So right now, just for picking different sub genres, I would say London Calling by The Clash, something by the first Bad Religion like Generator and.. I don't know, maybe Zen Arcadia by Hurcer Du or "Let's start" by Gorilla Bisquit! I could write something like 100 best punk discs!
A: In my opinion, it's missing the fundamental part of anarchic punk which I think it's really relevant for us, like The day the country died by Subhumans or The ungovernable force by Conflict..! Changing genre and looking at street punk, I would say Police Story compilation by The Partisans.
M: I'd like to propose even Explode by The Unseen and, again, London Calling by The Clash! As Saulo says the list would be long so it's better stop here!
8. End of the interview! Any projects for the future?
A good proejct for the future would surely be staying united, keeping to transmit our message playing on the road. And why not, it would be cool even going outside Italy for some tours!!
